Honorary Membership is offered - at the discretion of QLS Council - to members who have demonstrated substantial contribution to the legal profession in Queensland such as:

1. Members who have been a full member of the Society for 50 years. 
2. Members who have demonstrated substantial contribution to the Society and significantly enhanced the solicitors’ branch of the legal profession over their career.

Member benefits - For your practice  Principal Practicing Certificate Holders who are full members of QLS can also access the following benefits for their law practice (conditions apply)
Cyber essential insurance   QLS Member Practices# are covered by the QLS Cyber Essentials Insurance policy, which provides up to $50,000 per claim^ in the  event of data theft, accidental data release and hacking.
Professional standards scheme  Provides participating law practices*, where all eligible solicitors are full or honorary members, with a cap on the liability  for damages arising out of the provision of legal services
ILP Membership ILP Membership allows firm, the most likely subject of legal action in relation to services provided, to participate in the  Professional Standards Scheme as an entity and benefit from capped liability*.
Practice support The Practice Advisory Service is a free service for members offering practical advice on a range of business issues including budgeting/cash flow, business development, procedures and legal practice management systems. Members can also access  referrals to specialist advisors which can include up to 2 hours free consultation

Locum service  QLS's Locum Service connects sole to small practices seeking short or fixed-term assistance with experienced solicitors
